QuestiO – Terms of Use
Effective September 25, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Mind Games Lab LLC for using QuestiO. We've kept them as plain as we can. By creating an account or using QuestiO, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use QuestiO
You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, or under the age of adulthood where you live, you need a parent or guardian to agree to these terms with you. You can't use QuestiO if the law forbids it or if we have removed you before.
2. Your account
- Give an email address you can access, and don't pretend to be someone else in your name, @handle or avatar.
- One account per person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Tell us at admin@mindgameslab.com if you think someone else got into your account.
3. What QuestiO is (and isn't)
QuestiO helps you keep habits with friends: quests, check-ins, weekly progress, and support you choose. It's not medical, mental-health, fitness or nutrition advice, and it's not a service for emergencies. Check with a professional before starting a habit that could affect your health. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services.
4. Your content
"Your content" means what you create in QuestiO: quest titles and descriptions, plans, check-in notes, your display name and handle, reports, and so on.
- You keep ownership of your content.
- You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, display and send your content, only to run QuestiO: showing it to the people you share it with, backing it up, and keeping the service safe. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies already shared with others through the normal use of the app (for example a notification someone received) and anything the law requires us to keep.
- Only post content you have the right to post, and don't post other people's private information.
5. Friends, visibility and notifications
- Other people can see some of your information and activity, as set out in the Privacy Policy's "Who can see what" section. When you join a quest, everyone in it sees your check-ins and notes there.
- QuestiO sends notifications you've allowed (reminders, the morning note, friend activity, support). You can change them in the app or in your phone's settings.
- Friends' support is voluntary. We don't promise that anyone will cheer, nudge or answer.
6. Community rules
QuestiO works because it's a kind place. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Don't use QuestiO to:
- harass, bully, threaten, shame or intimidate anyone, including through nudges, "doing it now" pings or repeated requests;
- post hateful content, or content that attacks people for who they are;
- post sexual content or nudity, or anything that sexualises minors;
- encourage self-harm, eating disorders or dangerous challenges;
- share someone else's personal or health information without their permission;
- impersonate a person or organisation, spam, or run scams;
- break the law or help someone else break it;
- hack, scrape, overload or reverse-engineer QuestiO, or get around blocks, limits or security rules.
7. Reporting, blocking and enforcement
- Block anyone from their profile. They can no longer reach you in QuestiO.
- Report a person or content in the app, or email admin@mindgameslab.com. We review reports within 24 hours.
- If someone breaks these rules, we may remove content, limit features, suspend or permanently remove the account, and tell the authorities where the law requires it. For serious harm we may act without warning.
- If you think we got it wrong, email us and we'll look again.
8. Price
QuestiO is free. No surprise charges. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll make it clear what's paid before you choose anything, and we'll never charge you without clear confirmation. Any purchases would go through the App Store or Google Play under their terms.
9. Changes, experiments and availability
We improve QuestiO often. Features may change, and some are experiments (like "doing it now") that may be switched off. We try to keep QuestiO running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may stop offering QuestiO; if we do, we'll give reasonable notice where we can so you can export your data.
10. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time: Profile → danger zone → delete account. This permanently deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy, including every quest you own, for everyone in it. Export your data first if you want a copy. We may also close an account that breaks these terms (section 7) or has been inactive for a long time, after trying to let you know.
11. Our app and brand
QuestiO, its design, mascots, artwork and code belong to Mind Games Lab LLC. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the store rules. Please don't copy our art or brand without asking.
12. Disclaimers and limits
QuestiO is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We aren't responsible for what other users post or do.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Mind Games Lab LLC won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim about QuestiO is limited to US$100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
You agree to cover us for claims caused by your content or your breaking these terms, where the law allows.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, apart from its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in King County, Washington, unless the law where you live gives you the right to go to your local courts. Please email us first; most things get sorted out that way.
14. Apple and Google
If you got QuestiO from Apple's App Store:
- These terms are between you and Mind Games Lab LLC, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for QuestiO or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for QuestiO.
- If QuestiO fails any warranty that applies, you can notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price (QuestiO is free). Apple has no other warranty obligation to the extent the law allows.
- Apple isn't responsible for claims about QuestiO: product liability, failing a legal or regulatory requirement, or consumer-protection and privacy claims. Mind Games Lab LLC handles those.
- If someone claims QuestiO infringes their intellectual property, Mind Games Lab LLC, not Apple, handles it.
- You confirm you aren't in a country under a US government embargo and aren't on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
If you got QuestiO from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply, and Google isn't responsible for QuestiO.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For important changes we'll tell you in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using QuestiO after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
