Don't You Dare Terms of Use
Effective September 27, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Mind Games Lab LLC for using Don't You Dare. We've kept them plain. By using the app, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. What Don't You Dare is (and isn't)
Don't You Dare suggests one small dare a day to help you practice courage, plus optional feel-good "Recharge" tasks. The dares are suggestions. You decide whether, when and how to do them. The app is not therapy, and it isn't medical, mental-health or fitness advice. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services.
2. Dare safely
- Only do a dare if it's safe for you and for the people around you. Skip or swap any dare that isn't: "Can't today" is there for exactly that.
- Respect other people. If a dare involves someone else, be kind, take no for an answer, and don't film or post anyone without their permission.
- Follow the law and the rules of the places you're in.
- If you have a health condition, check with a professional before physical or food dares.
You're responsible for what you choose to do. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for injury, loss or damage that results from doing a dare.
3. Who can use it
Don't You Dare is for a general audience. If you're under 18, or under the age of adulthood where you live, use it with a parent or guardian's permission, and ask an adult before any dare that involves strangers, going somewhere new, or spending money.
4. Your data
There's no account. Your progress is stored on your phone, and deleting the app deletes it. We can't restore it. The Privacy Policy explains the anonymous analytics we collect and how to turn them off.
5. Price
Don't You Dare is free, with no ads. If we ever add paid features, we'll make clear what's paid before you choose anything, and purchases would go through the App Store or Google Play under their terms.
6. Changes and availability
We improve the app often, and features and dares may change. We try to keep it working but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may stop offering it.
7. Our app and brand
Don't You Dare, its dares, design, artwork and code belong to Mind Games Lab LLC. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the store rules. Please don't copy the app, its dare list or brand without asking. Don't hack, scrape or reverse-engineer the app.
8. Disclaimers and limits
Don't You Dare is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Mind Games Lab LLC won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for personal injury or property damage caused by doing a dare, or for lost data. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to US$100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
9. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, apart from its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in King County, Washington, unless the law where you live gives you the right to go to your local courts. Please email us first; most things get sorted out that way.
10. Apple and Google
If you got Don't You Dare from Apple's App Store:
- These terms are between you and Mind Games Lab LLC, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails any warranty that applies, you can notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price (the app is free). Apple has no other warranty obligation to the extent the law allows.
- Apple isn't responsible for claims about the app: product liability, failing a legal or regulatory requirement, or consumer-protection and privacy claims. Mind Games Lab LLC handles those.
- If someone claims the app infringes their intellectual property, Mind Games Lab LLC, not Apple, handles it.
- You confirm you aren't in a country under a US government embargo and aren't on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
If you got the app from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply, and Google isn't responsible for the app.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For important changes we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply.
